Essendon Is Back In | The Run Home

Join us for 'The Run Home' as we take a look at some of our key teams on the run home to the finals, through the eyes of our own footy mad crew.
Essendon Is Back In | The Run Home
We’ve just launched our second drop of the Official AFL Partnership for the back end of the home and away season. Celebrating collaboration season and our latest AFL supporter gear,  The Run Home is our latest blog series to see out to the finals. Expect weekly updates on the 2024 AFL Premiership Season so far, straight from the mouth of a true footy fan. First off the line, the mighty Dons.

This year has been one of the closest home and away seasons in recent memory.

We’ve reached the pointy end of the season, with only a handful of rounds left on the home and away calendar. Drop 2 of our AFL Collaboration has arrived just in time for the finals race, as we start to close out one of the closest seasons we’ve seen in recent memory.

Usually by this point of the season, the teams in the top 8 are starting to solidify themselves away for a finals berth, but as it stands, teams all the way down to 13th position on the ladder are only 1 game out of a top 8 finish and booking their ticket to September.

For the first time in 13 years, the Victorian Big Three teams are looking to finish in the top 8.

In what has been a long time coming, for the first time since the 2011 Premiership Season, Victorian heavyweights Essendon, Collingwood and Carlton are all well and truly on the way to feature in September action. With the Blues and the Dons staying in striking distance of the top 4 all season long, and the reigning premier Magpies too crafty to count out, these historic clubs are seemingly set finals footy together once again.

A record they don’t want to have. Can Essendon finally break their finals drought?

Probably the most talked about, and overdone joke of recent seasons (I say that as a footy fan and diehard Essendon supporter - Beau from NXP), is Essendon’s 7000+ day drought without a finals win. If their play this season, leading footy media experts, and my ladder predictor is anything to go by, the Dons are finally getting that hoodoo off their back and nabbing their first win in September since 2004.

What the crew are wearing to the game.

There’s three pieces from this drop that I’ve been eyeing off since seeing the early designs mocked up. I’d be wearing both the Essendon Raptor Fit Tee and Box Fit Hoodie together, underneath the Essendon Varsity Jacket. While it is tempting to pair them all together with the Essendon Track Pants, I’ll leave them for games watching from the couch, reaching instead for the Colby Cargo Pant in Bone to complete my outfit.
